Concert Ukulele No.09

This was a lovely uke to work on - it features a spruce top and some unique UK-grown claro walnut for the back and sides.

The reddish hues of the claro walnut are complemented by fumed laburnum appointments and a simple inlay

I'm doing a bit of wood turning today for a change of pace. These two blanks will soon become the end-pins/strap buttons for a pair of ukuleles I'm working on.

The one of the left is 5,000yo Fenland Bog Oak, and the one on the right is Fumed Laburn

Finishing off the last little details on this European Sycamore neck today.

I've been slowly but surely refining the neck of this tenor uke. The transition areas of the volute and of course the fox heel are crucial to get right, and cannot be rushed.

This particular neck is made from a European sycamore board that was bake
